Since urbanest launched in 2009, we have remained committed to being a responsible student accommodation developer. Our focus on sustainability began that same year with the introduction of a comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, which has since evolved into a robust Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework. This progression underscores our dedication to sustainable practices and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reinforcing our ambition to make a positive global impact.
A major milestone in our journey was the decision to target Passivhaus standards in all new developments, culminating in the certification of our first Passivhaus building in December 2024. This achievement reflects our commitment to reducing environmental impact while prioritising energy efficiency and occupant comfort. By embedding Passivhaus principles into our projects, we are not only minimising carbon footprints but also enhancing the living experience for our residents, ensuring they benefit from healthier, more sustainable accommodation.
At urbanest, we recognise that sustainability is an ongoing commitment. Our approach ensures that every new development contributes to a more sustainable future, providing students with spaces that support their well-being while setting new standards for responsible building practices.
