Overlooking Battersea Power Station, Battersea Park and the River Thames, Battersea is a landmark development in London’s newest design, tech, retail and entertainment quarter. With Battersea Power Station tube two minutes from the front door, urbanest Battersea is within easy reach of all London’s major universities.

Consisting of three blocks of student accommodation and one of office space, this development is currently the largest in the UK to achieve Passivhaus certification. It is also the only multi residential building to achieve BREEAM Outstanding.

Properties Battersea

Passivhaus is a proven residential system. Scaling it to encompass 853 rooms and 44,000sq ft of office space however presents a number of challenges in terms of quality assurance and pressure testing to ensure the external terracotta façade is airtight.

The compact site and the presence of Victorian sewers and large electricity tunnels under the site also required creative solutions, such as the design of huge cantilever transfer system which also allowed the expansion of the gross area of the development by 15%.
