It was a privilege for urbanest to speak at the Wellness Real Estate & Communities Symposium in New York City, hosted by the Global Wellness Summit, as part of an in-conversation panel session discussing the importance of wellness in real estate from a PBSA perspective.

A new focus on health and wellness is transforming the built environment, and by also featuring in the Global Wellness Institute’s latest research report Build Well to Live Well: The Future, urbanest is proud to offer insight as to how wellness and real estate continue to connect, specifically within the PBSA sector.

As a leading provider in sustainable student accommodation, urbanest Head of Development Angus Kearin and Chief Operating Officer Anthony Mellalieu offered key insight on the way in which we went about designing urbanest Battersea with the wellbeing of our student residents at the very centre, and now, approaching a year into operation, how we have developed a unique community that enhances the lives of those who choose to spend their time with us.

At urbanest Battersea our student residents are truly the heart of our community, and their health and wellbeing is central to the community we are trying to create. Through this innovative approach, we have delivered a unique home where students can thrive and truly enjoy their time with urbanest, whether that be through cleaner filtered air, enhanced lighting systems, or boosted activity and productivity thanks to the environment that we are providing.

To our university partners, our holistic approach to health and wellbeing is evidence of the investment and commitment urbanest is making to student wellbeing, ensuring their time in London is spent in the best possible environment, and critically looking after their health and wellbeing at the same time.

“Speaking in front of a global audience at the Global Wellness Summit’s Wellness Real Estate and Communities Symposium, and featuring as a case study in the Global Wellness Institute’s ‘Build Well to Live Well: The Future’ report highlights the scale of what we are doing at urbanest. We are not just developing buildings for our student residents to live in, we are developing vibrant communities with health and wellbeing central to every design, every construction, and every operational decision that we are making.”
