International Women’s Day 2026: Recognising the Female Talent Shaping urbanest
To mark International Women’s Day 2026, urbanest was proud to host a dedicated roundtable event bringing colleagues together from across the business to celebrate, recognise and learn from the women who help drive our organisation forward.
Featuring guest speakers Mathanki Thirukaran (Financial Controller) and Lauren Wertheim (Trainee Acquisition & Development Surveyor), the event provided a fantastic opportunity to spotlight the incredible female talent within our organisation and hear more about the development journeys shaping their careers.
Both Mathanki and Lauren shared deeply personal insights with the group into their professional journeys so far, highlighting the experiences, challenges and pivotal moments that have shaped their development. Their stories and experiences ranged from navigating new industries and building confidence, to overcoming barriers and embracing opportunities for growth.
Events like these remind us of the power of storytelling, representation, and inspiring others to follow, as well as strengthening the connections between our people and helping to reinforce the inclusive culture we continue to build at urbanest.
International Women’s Day is an important moment to recognise progress, shine a light on the experiences of women within our business, and acknowledge the work we still need to do.
We are grateful to Mathanki and Lauren for sharing their stories so openly, and to all of our wonderful colleagues who joined us for this meaningful conversation.
