End of 2025 Construction Update – urbanest Canary Wharf

After topping out on our newest scheme May 2025, the construction of urbanest Canary Wharf has progressed rapidly throughout the second half of the year.

In November we marked the key milestone of fitting the 4,835th and final façade panel to the exterior of the development.

A journey that started when the first panel was completed on April 8th 2024, and finished 576 days later when the 4,835th panel was completed on November 5th 2025. From there it was taken to site and installed, officially marking the end of the exterior cladding works.

The construction team also continues to make significant progress on the skybridge, which connects Towers 1 and 2 on level 10, and will serve as a shared social and amenity space for students.

On the inside of the building, work continues to progress on the internal fit out of what will be our tenth and largest community.

November saw UCL open bookings for urbanest Canary Wharf, with rooms available for the 2026–27 academic year.

What’s next?

Once complete, Canary Wharf will expand urbanest’s portfolio to nearly 6,500 beds. Designed to Passivhaus standards, it reinforces our commitment to sustainability and positions urbanest as London’s leading provider of sustainable student accommodation.

We look forward to completing construction in the months ahead, and welcoming UCL residents through its doors later in 2026.
